Startup Centenary Conversations is this year's national theme for GEW Ireland. It kick starts in Global Entrepreneurship Week and runs until December 31st, 2016.

It celebrates startups as part of Ireland's Centenary through a series of conversations, events and competitions throughout Ireland, to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The Startup Centenary Summit brings together Ireland's actors in the ecosystem as well as hundreds of startups and entrepreneurs, converging in Dublin, recently ranked as the “best city to found a business in” by Forbes Magazine. “Ireland is the number one place to do business” according to Forbes Magazine.

The Summit is a day long series of 4 Master Sessions;  The Role of Incubators and Accelerators; Gaps For Growth Outcomes  Advancing Ireland's Entrepreneurship Ecosystem; followed by the national headline event, Pitch for The Throne, hosted at AIB Bank Centre. Ireland and USA high growth startups compete in front of a world class judging panel, featuring Jonathan Ortmans, President, GEN Global and an audience of investors and entrepreneurs, to win a seat on the Throne from the hit TV series, Game Of Thrones, along with a secret prize!

Many headline events continue throughout the week across Ireland through a host of national, regional and local partners, to make this year's GEW our biggest success including AIB with over 200 branch centres across Ireland connecting with NACEC, the National Association of Community Enterprise Centres, representing 160 centres nationwide, through a series of expert led events on Financing Your Startup and leading the way in a national engagement of entrepreneurs in the Gaps For Growth initiative by Cantillon Foundation, to help improve Ireland's environment for startups. Many other partners including, HBAN, Science Week Ireland and Dublin BIC are hosing events throughout the week.

Meath Enterprise Week is a long standing GEW national Partner, and is hosting its biggest enterprise week this year, with a highlight event, The Meath Enterprise Conference & Expo on Tuesday 15.  The week rounds up with Cork Innovates and Startup Ireland hosting Startup Nations Summit, in Cork, where the eyes of the world will be on Ireland.
