Siobhán Finn is Project Director of Cork innovates, an award winning initiative based in Cork, Ireland which focuses on building upon the strengths of the regional networks by engaging with and enabling outstanding collaboration among partner members and external stakeholders within the Region, all of whom are committed to the success of entrepreneurs founding, growing and staying their business within the region.
Siobhán has years of experience working with start-ups and SMEs in management, leadership, training and mentoring roles. Siobhán has a deep-rooted passion for entrepreneurship and the critical role it plays in the growth of local and regional economies, particularly in the current climate. She strongly advocates the need for local and national government to understand and embrace entrepreneurship of all types and within all sectors of the commercial and non-commercial sectors, recognising that individuals create businesses and that it is the role of the government sector to remove barriers and support the creation of a positive and engaged eco-system.
Under Siobhán’s leadership, Cork innovates is now nationally and internationally recognised as a model for collaboration and promoting entrepreneurial spirit at a regional level. In November 2013 Chambers Ireland awarded Cork innovates the ‘Excellence in Local Government’ Award. In September, 2014 Cork innovates was named the only Irish Winner of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards 2014, under the category ‘Promoting Entrepreneurial Spirit’ and most recently Siobhán was recognized by the Irish Public Sector Magazine for Services to Business within a local government region.
